FIRST CONTACT

NO UNNECESSARY RISK.
NO UNNECESSARY DATA.

The first message should establish contact, not transmit all personal documents. Short and specific is enough.

How to make first contact clear

WHAT TO WRITE IN THE FIRST MESSAGE

The first message should open a dialogue

The purpose of first contact is not to tell your entire story but to provide enough information for a useful reply. Introduce yourself briefly, name one or two fields of interest or ask for help choosing, add several facts about relevant experience and provide a safe callback method. A messenger message does not need to become a multi-page CV. The recruiter can ask focused questions or suggest a time for a conversation. A clear purpose keeps the important point from disappearing inside details and makes it easier to identify the next useful step.

How much information is enough

At the beginning, a name, general region, safe contact, relevant experience and preferred fields are usually enough. Age may be included when relevant to the procedure, but exact address, route, current precise location, document numbers and unrelated personal details are not needed for an initial response. Professionally relevant information such as a driving category or specialist education can be useful. The objective is to give the recruiter enough context to ask the next question, not to create a complete personnel file in an open channel.

How to verify the channel

Open the contact from the official website or another confirmed source rather than from a random forwarded message. Check the page address, account identity and whether contact details match published information. If sensitive data is requested, ask which stage requires it and whether a protected transfer method is available. If something feels wrong, stop sending information and confirm the request through an independent official contact. This takes little time and greatly reduces the risk of phishing or accidentally sending documents to the wrong person.

Data that does not belong in the first message

Passwords, verification codes, banking details, full document images, precise location, information about protected sites or confidential data from previous employment are not required to establish contact. Large file archives should not be sent “just in case” either. Every extra file increases the amount of personal information exposed without proving it is necessary. If a document is genuinely required, the recruiter should explain what is needed, at which stage and through which channel. Until then, limit the message to information necessary for a reply and arranging a conversation.

A normal first reply can be brief

First contact does not always end with a detailed consultation in the same message. A reply may simply confirm receipt, ask for a few details or suggest a time for a conversation. That is normal when the identity of the responder and the next step are clear. Do not treat brevity as automatic lack of interest. Clarity, an official channel and a concrete agreement matter more. If a short reply unexpectedly requests sensitive data, however, pause and clarify the purpose and transfer method before sending anything.
